I sat ringside many times in the 70s at Mami Beach when Brisco fought Funk. The best matches I've ever seen. Some went to a 1 hour draw. After the match Brisco had welts on his chest from so many forearm smashes. The best matches I've ever seen and I even saw Lou Thez wrestle.
Don't you think that you would have a more productive conversation about the difference between WWE and independent wrestling with someone who is actually talking about that? There are plenty of forums where you can go on and discuss that. You really needn't try to force it into a response to a comment which didn't really bring up that topic.
@TheBestPrevail To quote your year old post "Jack Brisco and Dory Funk were good for their time but pale in comparison to professional wrestling today". Well, professional wrestling today doesn't exist within the wwe, even Junior boasts about that with pride. Your 1st statement is utterly ridiculous and as far from the truth as it gets. Unless you've seen Funk and Brisco, as well as Aries, Strong and Richards you are not qualified to make any sort of comparison. Enough of this horseshit.
@TheBestPrevail You need to look at indie wrestling to find talent comparable to Brisco & Funk, not wwe. Brisco & Funk are great for any era up to this point in time. I put Aries right up there with both of them, as would anyone who can judge ringwork from the "old days" LOL through today.
Did you actually read my comment? I said that Brisco and Funk were good for their time; I didn't make any comment about the difference between WWE and independent wrestling.
@TheBestPrevail You need a serious brain check. Austin Aries, Davey Richards, Daniel Bryan, Rodrick Strong all compare to these guys. The history of the business is completely lost on you.. Brisco & Funk were better than anyone in their time and if they were young today thay'd have top work for the indies, because wwe (world's worst entertainment(?) couldn't handle matches of this intensity. Go back to watching what Vince feeds you as ignorance is bliss.
Jack Brisco and Dory Funk, Jr. were good for their time, but would pale in comparison to professional wrestling of today. Younger fans would be more inclined to be interested in the skills of older wrestlers if it wasn't for them, and people like you, so spitefully singing their praises. You just sound nostalgic and overly-aggressive.
