  • Derek, I want a review on this guitar. I've won one, and getting it within the next 4 weeks. How would you rate:

    Tuning stability

Balance between bass, mid and highs

    Percussion

    Overall volume?

    Out of 10 for each

  • @dajiaoma77777

    Tuning Stability: 9

    Balance: 9

    Percussion: 10

Volume: 10 (probably won't find a louder acoustic)

It's really all personal preference with Rainsongs. Being that they are 100% Carbon fiber, they are very different from traditional acoustics. However, I would imagine you will be very satisfied once you play one in person!

  • Hey Derek I have a few questions for you man. That rainsong that you have... it looks like a pure dreadnought with no electronics cuz i can't see the eq on the outside... if this is true that would make it the H-DR1100N2.... but that model doesn't offer shark inlays on the frets. Did you get it custom built? I was curious cuz i wanna buy either a rainsong or blackbird. Btw haved you tried the blackbird super om? If you have what were the reasons why you chose rainsong?

  • @zergtoss1 Actually this is a Jumbo (JM1000) and it currently has Fishman electronics. Looking to upgrade to K&K Trinity soon.

I've never played Blackbird guitars...they are definitely interesting to look at but that's as much as I know. If you go the Rainsong route, you'll be sure that you have a very stable guitar despite temperature changes. They are also very lightweight. As far as tone goes, just a matter of tastes I guess!

  • Really impressive Derek, like this tune a lot. You've done a great job of recording too, sounds really good. Looking forward to hearing more of your compositions!

Are the strings all from Cubase plugins? they sound damn good, gonna have to get myself a copy installed i think!

  • @Deusexmachinamusic Yep, I just threw a Halion VST into piano roll. Thanks for watching!

  • what a song. you need to be signed to a label if you ask me. but keep it up.

  • Incredible. Wonderful recording tone and video in general. Your really one of the best amatuers on youtube, and that's a compliment considering how many there are. I loved the synth pads fills throughout (at least I think that's what they are). One of your best yet!
