You really need to do some research because you are sounding so stupid so you are saying they did exactly what people did 20 yrs ago so that would be 1970? Because Crystal method came out early 90s So there were Clavia nord lead sythesisers and other mixing equipment? Btw it was only available to the public in the 90s. Your an idiot! There is no doubt people dabbled and did electronic stuff earlier...but like I said not like The METHOD!

@joesmith64 right. haha of course they weren't doing "what Crystal Method" was doing, because they were doing it 20 years before Method was. YOU claimed Method were the inventors of DJ format music, the "source of it all", to use your words, which is absurd. like the original poster said, what Method did was commercialize it, brought it out of a strictly club/studio setting. i guess they taught pioneers like DJ Jazzy Jay, Bambaataa, Grand Wizzard Theodore and the like?

@djeliteforce they were doing it at the level of Crystal method. You can name drop all the obscure no name garage underground DJs you want to make yourself feel good and sleep better at night but end of the day no one will still give 1 ounce of FUCK. These guys took it to a whole new level, so show some respect and learn to recognize.

LOL some of you need to look up Crystal Method, these guy practically invented electronic/DJ format music, meaning EVERYTHING you dance to you enjoy listening to came form these guys, these guys are the source of it all. Especially on this side of the pond, As far as American Dj's go, you will be had pressed to come up with anyone who pre date Crystal Method, and I'm talking about DJ spinning and sampling in a club, I'm not talking about your dad who played a synthesizer in the 80's.

For starters how about Ron Hardy, Lil Louis, Marshall Jefferson, Larry Levan, Steve Hurley, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Larry Heard, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Afrika Bambaataa, Frankie Knuckles, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin ... the list goes on, and on & on.
What the Crystal Method did so brilliantly in the US was to take their hybridized electronic sounds out to the masses, beyond club culture.
