Bargiel (1828-97) is remembered today as Schumann's half-brother-in-law, but he was a serious composer in his own right, and these three pieces are by no means slavish imitations of Schumann's style - in fact they are more reminiscent to me of the young Brahms (of the piano sonatas etc.).

@jannarta Thank you! With better recording equipment I would have made more of the dynamics (the central section of the first nocturne should, I think, be generally quieter in effect).

The dynamics range range from ppp to mf and onwards. Musically discriptive with excellent control of the dance rhythms .The andante has a facet of humour and you play it Tres retenu which adds a certain freshness and appeal to me and I shall try to emulate you on the Pleyel. Added to Favourites. jannarta.
