  • Do you prefer Seagate over Western Digital? I like the WD brand better, but Seagate does have good prices.

  • @PianoScience Yeah. I personally think Seagate is much more reliable. They have better quality..in my opinion. I have a WD 1TB HD, but it's pretty noisy and not as quite reliable.

  • @onlivegamer Old comment, but nobody seemed to respond to it lol. The "For Mac" part refers to the FireWire 800 connection usually, and being formatted in HFS+ out of the box (rather than FAT32 or NTFS as most drives aimed at Windows usually come formatted as). A lot of people carry their MacBook with them and take an external drive for Time Machine backups while on the go, or just want a smaller drive that doesn't need to be plugged in to a power point.

  • @you7tube24 If you're using Windows Vista or 7 and don't plan on using it with any XP systems, then format it as exFAT. If you want to use it with XP machines and Linux, then use FAT32. exFAT is a newer format that allows for larger than 4GB files and works between OSX and newer versions of Windows. FAT32 is supported by pretty much everything, but is limited in how large a single file can be, so if you have big files (like videos or installers) you'll be better with exFAT.

  • i bought this one but not really satisfied by its plasticity body..prefer metally like before seagate product..

  • how do you reset it? i set it up for mac only but now i want to use it with mac and windows. Please reply.

  • You (still) have the most beautiful hands on YouTube. Your voice is totally awesome, friendly and soothing. (I realize you have a very special microphone). Thirdly this review is excellent - like they all are. I shall get the product on your recommendation, Tim. Thank-you.
