Come into my room. Let me show you all my wares:
This was meant to be me performing a rendition of "There's a hole in my bucket" - inspired by Dougal's ex-girlfriend (who we called "Bucket" for some reason) having her birthday a few weeks ago. I had to warm up by bashing out a load of crap, and still haven't got used to the idea of singing (esp with guitar - Dougal has been learning to sing and play simultaneously recently).
I have a tendency to go off on tangents (especially with things I play in the same key), so for example there's bits of "Mango walk" and "We wish you a merry Christmas".
Bucket (with very little information to go on) accused me of being a "geek" because of my maths and programming. This is so far from the truth! If I was a geek I wouldn't have messed up my PhD (knocking back crate loads of beer, hanging around in snooker halls and at campfires... generally larking around in places like Milan -not to mention reprogamming operating systems for old computers- seemed like more fun) and have to spend half my time dealing with my fan-mail. Those who truly know our posse know we could create the best damn rock band ever - but resist the urge to do so cos it's a mug's game (why should I spend my life being used by a leeching public - being wound up on purpose by them and then being sucker enough to turn the angst into music for them?)... so we are drawn to a more Apollonion philosophy, enchanted by blissful pleasures such as astronomy, peace, love, wit, literature... that kind of shit. All the best pleasures are earnt through grind.
So partially it's me wasting my time again trying to be an unenlightened one (i.e. a soulless, brainless passion junkie who's life consists of hellish work and social pressures ). The slaves (the conformers to the latest social fads and misguided work ethics) don't know what they're missing... the passion gets bottled up when you repress it and comes back 10 times stronger than a non "geek". Then you just do a load of exercise, buzz off the endorphins for a while, followed by a load of Tai Chi... then you find (to the delight of your woman) that you can go slow deep and hard (yet gentle)... ahem (you get the idea)! Woe - I could sit here for a week solid typing crap like this. We don't care what you think (OK - that's enough Type-O plugs).
The video also shows what happened to the double-bed I recently got - it got covered in maths of course. You won't be getting videos of some distinctly non-geek stuff that recently took place in bed...
I know no fear... well I'm not scared to send myself up anyway!
Actually the video starts with bits of Saturday (was meant to be filming Bindi+Stacey do a parachute jump, but it was deemed too rainy).

  • Er - yes well, 1 days I'll have to quit uploading such disjointed stuff:

If it's Christmas click here: 5:28 (2 years ago I did 50 Xmas things like that. Dougal and I keep saying we'll go carol-singing with violin and trumpet). After that there's some maths notes! The rest is me shocked at how hard it was after not playing for weeks (pinky had stolen the lounge, you see). e.g. 7:15 was me trying to remember how 1:32 went on "12 bit colour...", but 1:32 here sounds like "Sick of it all..."

  • ...and 0:45 is a hint at a little argument with God (who I am not claiming exists) I've been having!

I pay no attention to nonsense like astrology usually.

  • They finally got to do their parachute jump this weekend!
