Yeah, I also noticed the same thing. There's really no sense in comparing since they both have contrasting styles. Arnel has a more gritty and powerful style singing mostly with his chest voice while Perry has a more fluid smooth delivery singing mostly with head tones. God bless them both for being a part of Journey.

yeah no steve perry but if you'll listen to both versions (steve and arnel's) especially in the chorus part...steve can't hit the notes in the "with open arms" part (live)...unlike arnel, so amazing!!!!!!!
im a huge journey fan...and im not going to choose between the two who's the best...coz there are other (journey) songs which steve's voice is great over than arnel's while there are also songs arnel's voice can overpower steve's....dats ol i can say......
