That's an interesting question. I haven't had a chance to play the Sarasate's piece, but I think they are comparable in difficulty.

I thought carmen fantasy is harder..the fast running notes (double stops etc)..thx!!

Yes it's much harder. The carmen fantasy was written by a violinist. So even though it's difficult, it lays well on the instrument. This piece does not and requires much more practice.
