Keen Envirotrek Ardennes, 2010 - Respect the Mountains

'Keeping Our Playgrounds Clean'.

Tonnes of rubbish was removed in two Adrennes nature areas through the first Envirotrek event of 2010, organised by Dutch non-profit Respect the Mountains. The 30 strong contingent worked tirelessly despite the 35 degree temperatures showing their dedication to the cause.

This unique grassroots initiative offers the public an opportunity to make a difference in the mountain areas which they enjoy 'playing' or 'traveling', then in the afternoon participants enjoy nature from a rockface, a kayak or a mountain bike perspective. This combination instills Respect the Mountains 7 ways:
1) Keep Clean
2) Respect Nature
3) Don't Waste
4) Stay Green
5) Book Smart
6) Travel Wise
7) Spread the Word

This was the first of 3 events to take place this summer under the Envirotrek banner. The next will take place in Mayrhofen, Austria on 23rd of July, followed by Samoens, France on 13th of August.
