Once you get bitten by the bug, you're hooked for life!

My picture of the Summer Southern sky is in this movie. It was done at Colorado Springs star party by Pikes Peak. And some of these folks are friends of mine. If you want to go to a star party contact your local astronomy society. It's a great time.
Think cosmic !!

I'm ordering a 12 inch dob tonight :)

@ishouldplayzelda I know this is a late post, but the celestron $35 cheshire eyepiece is the best tool I have found. Comes with simple instructions and is far better than the laser collimators which are prone to focus tube error.

Nice! :)

that seems like a great place if you have a car, just drive way out into the nevada desert and your in some great viewing conditions. astronomy sucks for me here in the utah valley, i just got a 130mm reflector that i don't know how to collimate... and there won't be any clear sky for 4 days >:(

Where can I download maybe, this documentary please?
I really want to see the rest of this documentary. Just got a 8" orion dob last month and I think it is the best purchase I have ever made. I em unfortunate to live in possibly the worst place on the planet for Astronomy -_- Las Vegas ... But none the less I make do and can't wait to get out under some real dark skies.

@crovax17 I've got an 8" Dob myself (Celestron, but you know, tomato, tomahto). We're working on a way to get the film viewable online right now. Stay tuned. And good luck getting outside that light dome. I bet you can pretty quickly tho.

sweet i love astronomy but i cant see much through my 4.5 inch reflector in light polluted skies. Do u think i could find a star party here in ohio closer to the countryside?

@hiian123 I'm sure you can. Track down your local amateur astronomy club or contact a local university with an astronomy program. They'll usually do public nights as well. If there's nothing around, start your own. I'd bet there are like-minded folks around. Thx for the comment!
