Rock Hudson played Millionaire Brian Devlin, a former government intelligence operative. Jack Scalia played Nick, a fledgling private investigator who shows up at Brian's door claiming to be his son. Brian reluctantly helps his newfound son out on some cases. Sounds lame? Well, viewers in 1982 thought so too and it was cancelled after one season.
I wonder if Jack Scalia taking off his shirt once an episode was Rock's idea.

this formula (older guy /younger guy crime fighting team) would by copied by both Hardcastle @ Mccormick and Jake and The Fatman.

Some elements of this theme echo that of MTM's Rhoda.

I liked this show...producers included Harry O vets Jerry Thorpe and Howard Rodman, and Streets of San Francisco's Cliff Gould and John Wilder. Never thought much of Scalia as an actor, but Rock Hudson was a pro at light detective drama, as McMillan and Wife attests to.

I wonder if Rock Hudson ever gave Jack Scalia the diseased beef injection?
