Dents in shotgun barrels are fairly common but are easy to remove if you have the right tools. This GunTec video covers the process of raising dents in a shotgun barrel from start to finish. Larry Potterfield, CEO and Founder of MidwayUSA, guides you through the process using a Baker dent raising tool and a light hammer. The dent is primarily raised by inserting the tool into the bore and lining up the anvil under the dent. Turning the handle on the tool will raise the anvil which pushes out the dent. The final creases are removed by tapping around the dent with a light, brass hammer. If necessary, the barrel is now ready for refinishing.
