Haunting it is indeed....but profoundly moving in ways that defy the power of words to convey....I have spent hours playing it over and over again on the guitar. Django Reinhardt had a version of it that came out about '38 or '39 that is inimitable.

This was the last piece I studied before I quit. I was 13. Long story. Great piece! ♪

@ArchangelAstriel Do it before the month ends instead :P

@sugahmama1234 I've been playing for 13 years (since the age of 5), and am playing it now, but overall, I'd say that it could be manageable after about 4-6 years of serious private lessons (which would vary for each individual situation). Obviously a prodigy could manage it faster, and a recreational player slower.

I'm gonna play this next year. I'm graduating music school and this will be one of the 5 masterpieces I will be playing.

what grade of piano about do you have to be to learn this song?
I'm going to play this piece on monday at my school concert. always when I play I imagine some event that has happened to me or remember a feeling I had and try to deliver that emotion with my playing.. yesterday I remembered the feeling I had while visiting the concentration camp in dachau while playing this piece... my heart was racing, and I played it very differently but I must say it was better than before...
