Chalks Turbo Mallard lands in Bimini, taxis up the ramp and then departs for Miami. Good close ups of aircraft and cockpit during water takeoff.

  • From Wikipedia, "On September 30, 2007 the United States Department of Transportation revoked the flying charter for the airline."

  • Not that I know of. I wish I were because they sound like interesting personalities. I'm glad that posting this video posted such interesting responses.

  • Yeah. Glad I found this old footage and converted it to DVD for myself and to YouTube for everyone to enjoy.

  • Where does Chalk's have their depot now? I was just wondering, since I was once in Florida and knew of Chalks' a long time ago. They were sometimes the only airline that flew into and out of some of the islands and were famous for their use of the Goose. Thanks for the memories.

  • Watching this thing takeoff as a 5 year old was quite the site. Wish Chalk's was still around.

  • Is rbrown3rd any relation to Captain Harcourt Brown or his brother Captain Neville Brown in Bimini? This video brings back many great memories of my visit there for the 500th anniversary of Columbus' landfall. I was docked at Brown's hotel aboard the 44ft. CSY yacht with Capt. Alexandro Regazzi Fernandez, et al. If only my country treated me as well as I was treated while I was there.

  • Having an ole friend for dinner, Clarice.

  • while sipping on a sarsaparilla in the upstairs bar at big game, we watched the chalkie-mon run her right on to a sand bar. tried a few times to get off - tide saying byebye. then, smack! back door opens, stairs unfold and yes, here comes this enormous native lady. she's screamin, bends over and chalkie-mon go free. couldn't see the rest due to the tears in my eyes.

  • and they put the gear down way too early. Excess strain on that, imagine everything else on which they put excessive pressure.

  • its a plane! NO its a boat! NO its a bus!

  • I flew on Chalks to Bimini twice, I found the landing to be somewhat smooth, the take off out of Bimini was okay but the take off out of Miami on the water was major bumps on the water.. I miss Bimini.
