  • I don't even have one of these guns but still hAve watched all the videos. Thanks and good job

  • @GoGreenMan Thank you so much for the very kind comment!!!

  • I wanted to scream at the video, don't use the Saiga as your first thread cutting test bed!! I hope you are satisfied with the result, in the end that's all that matters! Hope it will cycle ammo reliably. :-)

  • @valtarys I thought I heard screaming :) It all came out good!!!

  • YouTube Awards: Best "How To" video series of the year! Awesome work Fred.

The guns in which I have done my own "gunsmithing" work on are the ones in which I am proudest. That's a gun to be proud of. Thank You!

  • @TalisTK Thank you so much!!! I vote for you with the best comment of the year!!!!

  • Yet again, well done sir. I got lucky when I did this to mine because it was a flat trunnion (spelling?) and it was one of the rare ones that already had a hole in it so I just dropped it in with a stainless steel screw and nut.

  • Great job man

  • Overly cautious is what tapping is about. Broken taps are nightmare.

  • great video fred, I would get some 30 round steel Chinese AK mags, they are great quality.

  • dude, awesome video, I got a Saiga 7.62x39 for Xmas and I love it, the only problem i have is im in califronia. so we can't get 30 round mags because they are illegal but not illegal... if you don't have pistol grip. you can have a 30 round mag without a bullet button. but if you have pistol grip you can only use 10 round mags and need a bullet button (sigh) however i can buy preban 20 round mags for the AK-47 so yeah I'm as mad a midget with a yo-yo, but thanks for the video!!!

  • ★★★★★

Well made video and very informative.

  • So with the price of the gun and the price of the conversion kit would'nt it be cheaper to buy a regular ak74

  • @fredhart yeah i think it all comes down to the individual fit of the rifle. some may be a little too tight while other will work fine.
