Vastly enjoyable and utterly appropriate, although not, I must admit, what I had expected from the title. Given the bootstraps progress of Mal from Browncoat sergeant to ship's captain, it seems to me that he and Cornwell's Sharpe have a great deal in common, not least their adherence to a moral code of their own. The pas de deux of Inara and Mal is one of the more delicately handled examples of romance in recent television, and leaves much to the vivid imagination of the fans.
