Can you imagine the house band on the Titanic, playing ironically subversive, blackly humorous music as the ship sank?

seems to me like they sold their soul to the record comapny, just to relive a memory that once was. but shit devo bad i love these guys hope they do it big and start it over again. this is devo-loution

Thanks for sharing this. Wonderful comments on the demise of analogue technology for working creatively. Nearly did my PhD on the topic.

"De- evolution is real, and we're like the house-band on the Titanic..."
They couldn't change the course, even if they were wise enough to see that the ship's captain was heading full-steam into the "Iceberg of Inverted Totalitarianism"!

@pamb440 I will be at the show and can't wait. All Hail DEVO

I can understand their point, but sadly this came across as just sounding old: "I don't like the way things are now, they were better 30 years ago."

If you don't know by now...............(singing)
Great video. Pioneers of futuristic recording giving their insight on how digital recording impacts decision making versus real analog recording with the consequences laid out on tape.

Foo Fighters still use tape and they sound more fantastic than ever. Dave Grohl is old school and so is Devo and I do not agree that you have to be "brave" to admit that you were a fan back in the day when Devo first hit the music scene, you only have to be proud and I am. I was a fan back in the day when I first heard them and I'm an even bigger fan now, Love you guys and can't wait to see my fellow Ohioans at the LC Pavilion on June 16th in Columbus Ohio!! Tickets go on sale tomorrow!
