  • Why are people laughing? Are they stupid?

  • Great twist to the lyrics when sung by a man. Pleading with women to cut the men some slack:)

  • if you like this, you shold listen to Elton John singing this.

  • I like Lyle,, any guy who wears his hair like that is ok with me,, not to mention his great voice a talent. He pulls this song off well.. Nice going lyle.

  • @5438472

Yet, you're so straight and Julia Roberts never married you. Oh, well. Hey, speaking of ruined, how's your music talent panning out? It's one thing to express your opinion, but quite another to believe it's the right and only one.

But no problem, because opinions like yours that make good ideas easy to spread just by invidious comparison.

  • This idiot is as gay as they come, not that there is anything wrong with that. He ruins a classic song.

  • Some folks laughing and drunk. They thought it was a NASCAR event.

  • This is an awesome cover, with a better vocal level than the original. And about the laughs, well, eighty percent of people are stupids like these. That is why we live in a twisted world like this.

  • @cinna71 Depending how you think of it. Gender or sexuality perspective; or he might just be a granddad singing to his adult granddaughter. Why its funny I guess, that the noobs laughing in the audience probably don't get that.

  • Lyle Lovett is a brilliant performer. He was brave to sing Stand by Your Man in The Crying Game. And it's true that it can be hard to love a man, whether you are a woman or another man, and those audible yobs in the audience are a clue to why some of that is the case. It always amazes me that the US can produce such excellent performers, song writers and artists and still be weighed down by the total losers who laugh and snigger at anyone's freedom to live and love - other than their own.

  • @MonkeyBonkers Yes. Like the kid says in Sixth Sense, "I see stupid people, their everywhere."

  • i first heard this version in the closing credits of the crying game. it's brilliant. and very funny.
