Presentazione
In occasione del centenario della morte del celebre scrittore vicentino Antonio Fogazzaro, la biblioteca Bertoliana presenta la mostra Il segreto di Fogazzaro. Vita e fortuna di uno scrittore nel mondo.
L'esposizione è allestita nelle sale del restaurato Palazzo Cordellina da domenica 9 ottobre 2011 a domenica 8 gennaio 2012.
L'intenzione è quella di far riscoprire ai vicentini e presentare all'attenzione del pubblico una parte della ricca documentazione che la Bertoliana conserva sull'insigne scrittore. Sono esposti lettere intime e documenti segreti, le fotografie di famiglia, i libri dello scrittore stipati in ricche biblioteche meticolosamente raccolti e conservati. Il percorso ricostruisce la figura e l'opera di Fogazzaro, i suoi molteplici interessi, le questioni letterarie, religiose e scientifiche che lo appassionarono e riallaccia così le fila di una fortuna letteraria che travalicò i confini nazionali fino ad arrivare agli Stati Uniti e al Giappone.
Presentation
In the year of the centenary of the death of Antonio Fogazzaro, the famous writer born in Vicenza in 1842, the Bertoliana Library presents the exhibition, The secret of Fogazzaro. Life and fortune of a writer in the world.
The exhibition will take place in the newly restored rooms of the Cordellina Palace, from Sunday, 9 October 2011 until Sunday, 8 January 2012. The display will give the opportunity to the citizens of Vicenza and to the great public to rediscover the work of the renowned writer showing a part of the documents owned by the Bertoliana library together with other records, portraits and books borrowed from other libraries and institutes. The purpose behind it is to present, as completely as possible, the work and figure of Fogazzaro, his several interests, the literary, religious and scientific matters he was so fond of, his considerable circle of relations and the success he met in Italy and abroad.
