Kris Kringle Parade 2009

Frederick's annual Kris Kringle Parade is tonight (December 4, 2009)! MET participates in the parade every year, supplying the Weinacht Man and Jack Frost characters. Ebenezer Scrooge and the "A Christmas Carol" cast also walks in the parade.

MET ensemble member Ken Poisson has been playing the Weinacht Man for the past 3 years. This year he's sporting a brand new costume, made for him by MET associate artistic director Julie Herber.




The parade starts at 6:30 tonight. The parade route goes from East Street to East Patrick Street, turns onto N. Market Street, and then turns onto West Second Street, ending at Baker Park. Nearly all of the streets are illuminated by thousands of tiny white lights.
