I have a VERY dim memory of "I Remember Mama" (as my folks called it) being on TV. I can't tell you anything about the storylines except what I've read up on many years afterwards. But I do remember an overall gentleness whenever this show came on at my house.
Long before I knew the names of the opening and closing themes, or that the composer was Edvard Grieg (let alone who he was!), I knew that I loved the music, and that the show was beautifully written and acted. Even a little kid, as I was then, could see that. I loved all the characters, and the charming slice of their lives that every episode represented. Thank you for posting this excerpt. It brings back wonderful memories.

I remember watching this show at my Grandmother's house. She was the only one in the family who had a TV in the 50's.
