  • suddenly all four limbs are on their own vectors....like 4 brains inside one cranium! Not to mention the section prior to it from 4:24 to 6:24 in which there are separate symphonies occuring between his upper limbs and his lower limbs). In other words: DAMN!!! and HOLY SHIT!!!! The only complaint I have about this video is the lack of close-ups!

  • widely as the polyrhythm king though I've never seen him come remotely close to what Thier pulls off from 7:04 through 8:33 in which he plays a constant ostinato pattern in what I can only interpret as in 5/8 or 5/16 (music majors feel free to correct any time) with his left hand and then does counterpart rhythms with his right hand and feet that at times mesh together against the left hand ostinato; then appear to divert from it and

  • I'm surprised that this guy hasn't had more accolades among the you tube music lovers' community. I have been studying many of the virtuosic drummers posted on this site: Marco Minnemann, JoJo Mayer, Johnny Rabb, Mike Mangini, Virgil Donati, Dennis Chambers, Dave Weckl(personal fave), Buddy Rich; and on and on...and I find this dude to be a just phenominal. Compare him to Mangini for example: Mangini is regarded

  • best drummer ever, but also the guy on the marimba/vibraphon is great!!!!!!!!!

  • Terry Bozzio much? If you like this guys style check out Terry Bozzio, formally of Frank Zappa. This guy is good and is really giving it his all to pull off Bozzio's style.
