The historian tries to impose on events some kind of rational pattern: how they happened and even why they happened. No historian starts with a blank mind as a jury is supposed to do.

We are in Curriculum Theory class now in Education Doctorate program. We're watching this video...It's a bit Scholar Academic based in that they're teaching kids to think and analyze like a scholar (historian). In other aspect, it is learner-centered. Also, kids are taught documenting, how to look for reliable sources, and critical reading and analysis of historical events...

this is great. we need to teach history like this in middle school and highschool. teaching kids how to better understand the past will help them grow up into people who question the world that they see in front of them. this is very important!
