Make Realistic Trees

You asked, Here it is. This is how i make the "puff ball" treesI filmed this using the camera on my cell phone. I think for a phone it takes good videos. I understand this is in a TON of model train books and therefore i dont take credit for the idea. All i can say is it works, its cheap, and it looks GREAT! I use woodland scenics products, (turf, poly fiber, etc) but im sure there are other things you can use. Thanks for watching!! comment/rate please

Well, yes. However, if they are placed correctly, and used in the background, it usually can work out alright. The other thing you can do, is place some trees that are to scale right next to the puffs. have the canopy of the tree level to each other, and your eyes will assume that all the trees are to scale

whats the best colors for rocks and do you spray or brush

There really is no one good color. I usually use a mix of browns and grays, then highlights of white, and dark spots of black ish brown.

its mostly foam boards built up to form a mountain, then newspaper balls on top to create a more contoured landscape shape. use plaster cloth to complete the terrain shell
