CP Westbound With Loram Ballast Cleaner

CP 8544 leads this short westbound freight out of Calgary along the Bow River in late afetrnoon light. At the head end was what I believe to be a Loram rail grinding train followed by 46 cars.

that was a Loram ballast cleaner not a rail grinder, we have a new one being put together in the shop right now

No I am out here for 4 months taking a railway conductor course. I am here until December. I will be back home for a bit when I'm done then move to wherever I get posted for work.

Thanks, I just found this place late Sunday evening. Its a perfect place to shoot videos here along the river. Walking trails on both sides and even a place where the trails cross the tracks equipped with crossing signals. Also a set of signals just to the left of this video so its easy to find out whats coming and from what direction. Plan on spending a few days here on weekends before the weather gets too bad.

wow. finally someone has a vid of the machine im on. SBC 23! if this is back in 08, probably when the machine was brand new. However, i have never seen the swing folded like that ever before when hooking up to a locomotive
