My young A. Geniculata (Psycho) biting a ruler. This was an accident. My only intention in this video was to get her to walk around a bit. Teasing or harrassing was not the goal. Also, she is huge now and of a pretty good temperment and is in a large container with coco fibre substrate (see tour vids).

  • Hello there,sir !

Thank you for sharing!I must say,I've several repeated the video, and after like 5 tries I calmed down, and could watch the 'biting' scene w/o having to jump.

I would like to ask a little question : Does their "bite" hurt badly ?

I'm looking forward on having a pet tarantula such as gramostaola aureostriata/rosea in the near future(heard they don't bite),but if it does,I'm afraid i'll react badly and accidentally drop her :( they're fragile ... -scared-

    Thank you for your time

  • @RouRa9 Never been bitten. G. rosea or G. pulchripes (formerly aureostriata) are great choices but I would prefer the pulchripes for a more predictably docile disposition.

  • Gorgeous T, a little aggressive though lol, maybe it was just pissed that there was a huge card thingy in her personal space :P

  • @Hobbzie02 Yes, I'm sure you are right. Today, she is a huge and docile specimen. A real prize!

  • what was the noise you made at 0:19 ?

  • nice little tarantula

  • Your A. Geniculata is pretty mellow. Mine's first reaction is to attack, since it thinks everything is food. Only way I can move or mess with it is if it's got food in its fangs.

  • what a terrible pet
