This tutorial will show you how to prevent a user from entering a value in a cell in excel which is not contained in a list. This will teach you how to make it so that a cell can only contain the values, characters, text, words, etc. that are in a list. This is not a drop-down list. You will also learn how to keep this list on a separate tab.

This feature in Microsoft Excel is called Data Validation and data validation prevents a user from entering certain values or text in a cell or multiple cells.
