He said "low glycemic index food". That isn't the same thing as low-carb.

@PainefulMass He's lucky. My grandma's nursing home gave her cookies and rice krispy squares.

@marksuave25 I think in some places they are. My dad was in the hospital for surgery and he said he was diabetic. They gave him special "diabetic meals" which was nothing more than low glycemic index food.

I wonder why diabetics aren't immediately put on a low carb diet. Inertia is the only answer.
