Here's the third trailer for "Doc Savage, The Man of Bronze: DETARNISHED!" This one compares the fight aboard The Seven Seas from the original theatrical film with the same scene of the fanedit.

  • Very good editing. But, for me, Doc Savage will be completely "DE-TARNISHED" when you find a way to get rid that awful cartoon music.

  • @tomchris60

Thanks. Yeah, this music doesn't sit too well with a lot of viewers, and though I guess I could have removed it completely from this fight scene - if I was ready to reconstruct all the punches, kicks and grunting - I'd have had to replace it with something, and I didn't want to go outside the movie for music cues. (People are too good at recognizing borrowed materials, I've found!)

  • @tomchris60

Oh - and I couldn't have successfully removed it from other scenes, where music occurs underneath dialogue. It's a low-quality, mono soundtrack. Maybe someday, when a "music/effects only" track becomes available... (Heh heh... fat chance!)

  • Have you checked out "Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze - DETARNISHED!" yet? As a Doc fan who was disappointed with the movie, you are the target audience for this fan-edit!

  • Ron looked and acted really great as Doc. He shined above and beyond the movie.

  • Thing is, this is one scene true to the books in how they handle the fight: Monk uses brute strength, Renny smashes guys and doors with his palms, Johnny giving much better than his small size would indicate, Ham using his sword cane and Long Tom using gadgets to make up for his lack of skills, plus Doc just plowing through. A shame the rest of the movie couldn't quite match.
