i was about 14 and in the holgate..great night! i lost one of my trainers at that game! love the holgate.....and that bloke who use to start the songs or shouting at the back!
we'd beaten Boro home and away in the league, then 2-1 in the play offs at VP should have been maybe 4-1 as we were well on top - but 2 defensive errors and the rest is history - that's footie for ya - kicking ya in the balls!
Went to every home league game but strangely missed the play-off games.

I lost me glasses on the floor of the Holgate when Hammy's goal went in. Incredibly I picked them up in one piece.

Whoa! Thanks for this, Gaz 1201.
My and my mates suffered the 2-1 defeat at Bradford (on a wonderfully sunny day, as I recall) and came away saying, '"2-1 - that's not so bad".
I stood in the Holgate (as ever) for the replay, and I'll never forget it. Ripper Ripley, Bernie Slaven, Gary (gay boy) Hamilton.
Thanks again.
Gonna look up Bernie's exploits now...
