I watched Serenity on recommendation from a friend when I was searching for good sci-fi movies I had not seen before. Needless to say, I loved it, without even knowing about Firefly.
I immediately went out to get hold of the Firefly series; watched it all in a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a shame the series was canceled though - I actually got quite sad at around episode 10 (by which time I was hooked), because I knew it was going to abruptly end due to fox canceling the show :[

@Merglet Wasnt underrated, it was heavily overlooked back in 2005 and it a shame because this is a lot better than most of Sci Fi action movies. I actually enjoyed this more than the new Star Trek.
