I'm pretty sure they're still going to be using the same US currency whether or not they recieve the stimulus money
-
These governors are trying to protect their states from being inundated with monopoly money. The feds cant force it on them, and if they think its a bad decision that will cause more problems than it will fix, on Washington's part, they have full right to deny the money.
-
It seems that this so called stimulus package is made up of money that has no value. the government is basically printing money to save the american economy
printing money only makes inflation blast through the roof. Germany in the 20's printed tons of money to pay off war debts. Then in the 30's it took a wheelbarrow of bills to purchase a loaf of bread. Zimbabwe is suffering from the same thing. Our government is getting ready to do the same thing to us

Business 101: First take care of your own states Budget! If the Fed wants to spend money to assist the States that follows under the catagory 'Never look a Gift Horse in the Mouth'! California and Florida's Governor's luckily were not absent from school on the day their teachers covered those chapters!

My bad... I misinterpreted you. I thought you were talking about the Republicans and Democrats.
What I was suggesting about the third parties is that they do not always fit "neatly" between the democrat or republican parties (or right nor left).
Note: The argument was "those who claim they are neither left nor right are hypocrites".
Suppose a person is pro choice and pro guns. They do not fit "neatly" in the left nor right. Does that make them a hypocrite?
-
i was talking about the third parties that you mentioned. like the liberal green party and the conservative constitutional and libertarian parties. if you honestly don't think that they are either liberal or conservative, then you either don't understand the meaning of American Liberalism or American Conservatism, or you don't know anything about those "parties," or you simply do not understand the political continuum, which is very real whether you like it or not.
-
No they do not. There are practically zero true conservatives in the republican party and true liberals support the constitution which is not ideal in today's democratic party.
Sounds like your information source is from the 90's.
-
no, you don't know what you're talking about. each one of those "parties" falls quite neatly into either liberal or conservative ideologies.

To bankrupt social programs? My lil' ol deluded friend, part of the Bush deficit was the Medicare prescription drug benefit. A new social program that Bush championed. The surpluses were due to the noose that the conservative congress tied around Clinton to prevent him from spending more.
You also need to define laissez-faire. It seems to have worked in Hong Kong.

If adhering to facts and not having "severe problems"
with things I do not understand makes me a zealot I am fine with that.
Peace
So your saying you can't govern yourself?
Or is that just people with your like ideals can only govern themselves?
If this is true, you should be the first in line to get chiped and thrown into a work camp. Have fun with that pinko.
Move to China dude, perhaps you and Hillary will enjoy yourselves.
I mean we can't let human rights get in the way of economoic recovery. It's obvious money has more value than humans these days.
Go die in a labor camp.

Oh please. Partisanship has existed from the first real election of 1800. Jefferson vs. Adams. The campaign was far more insulting than today's campaigns.
