if a chick is pretty y does it matter if shes light or dark?? specially in the modeling industry....i thought all they cared abt was the woman looking good not how much melanin she doesnt or does have in her skin

Cassidy is a fucking idiot, he shouldn't have even been interviewed. lol.
But as far as this video goes, I'd say that the "marketing" aspect does have a lot to do with it. I mean, you can't deny that in society in general light skinned women are considered more desirable than dark skinned women. That's just the way it is and it has been for such a long time. It's unfortunate but true. But despite that- ALL COMPLEXIONS ARE BEAUTIFUL.

@AfroNerd5 stop talking bullshit

Are you serious? The Europeans have conquered South and North America, Australia, Canada, Africa, Asia and now the Middle East and you say they don't have power? Why do you think all these continents speak English? How go you think South America adopted Spanish/Portuguese/French/Dutc
h? Read up on CULTURAL and ECONOMIC IMPERIALISM.
Cassidy was the closest to the truth. The only reason you find it hard to believe is because its not a mainstream idea that is promoted in the media.

It isn't even just skin tone. It's features too. Notice when beyonce was thick wearing long cornrows, mainstream wasn't that into her. When she dyed her hair blonde and wore the blonde wigs and you couldn't tell her ethnic makeup(Granted she is talented) she blew up. Cause every girl could admire her. Blackness period is not acceptable.

@CW043 Caste systems are much older than white supremacy itself. From Korea to India. These lightskin/darker skin issues have existed among many societies even whites themselves. Lightskin always signified people of status(they didnt have to work in the sun) and darker skin peasants who worked out in the sun)
If you don't understand white supremacy and how it functions in today's world (in economics, entertainment, education, labor, law, religion, and sex) everything you think you understand will only confuse you. If you ask the wrong questions the wrong way (especially if you asking mis-educated rappers) you will get the wrong answers. In this distorted video, no one wants to talk about the influence white supremacy has had on the psychic of non whites. Also I never knew Cassidy was such a fool.
