I love all Fusion, but my favourite Fusion era is late 80's early 90's.
This track reminds me mostly of Dave Weckl, Metro, Uzeb and Mezzoforte.

You can probably already hear it, but for those who have doubts, it's indeed all MIDI that you hear.
Bass: Trilian
Drums: Addictive Drums
Synths, Rhodes, Marimba, Soprano Sax, Guitars and Percussion are all Logic.
All I've used is a Macbook and a cheap Midi keyboard.

I've again used pictures of Melbourne.
I recorded the sound of rain at the start as well, because it rains so often in Melbourne.

I called the track Melbourne Blues, because the main theme has a 12-bar progression.

A big thanks to all my YT friends and subscribers.
Hope you continue liking what I do.
All the best!!!

  • who put a dislike on this? Did they not know what the thumbs up and down mean?!! I've not seen anyone even attempt anything like this on youtube. Amazing.

  • Not sure what happened to my original comment but Mr G you have amazing talent !

  • Wow, what talent !!!!! Amazing.

  • The talent, the sound, the complexity. Very good job my friend...it's great!

  • @jonannlou - You hit the nail on the head!!!

With this ingenious piece way up loud in my Sennheissers, eyes closed - I felt once again just like sitting close to the stage at a perfect live fusion/funk concert at my favourite 80'ies/90'ies jazzplace in Copenhagen (that sadly is no more) - tripping, jaw-dropped and closely watching all the musicians at work doing their magic. What a rush :-) Thank you!

And "synthandstuff" is right as well, I think :-)

  • Jonannlou doesn't speak a word Chinese mate, this is great stuff (again)! It shouldn't take too long before someone really famous finds you...
