Just outside of Waukesha, WI is a place I spent a lot of time wandering when I lived in Wisconsin. Perhaps these pictures will show you why.
Retzer Nature Center is located just south of Hwy 18 a couple of miles west of Waukesha, WI on County Road DT.
Other parks of interest in this area: Southern Kettle Moraine State Forest, Boerner Nature Center (Milwaukee), Noyes Park (MKE on Capitol Ave), Lapham Peak (County C north of Hwy 83), numerous lakes along I-94, Holy Hill area, Andre-Kohler SP (north of Milwaukee), and for information go to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) near Eagle, WI. Maps and information are available at sporting goods stores as well. Also check my video Wisconsin State Parks.
@TheFaerna Retzer Nature Center is just west of Waukesha just south of Hwy 18 on County Road DT. I don't believe that there are any fees for this park though in this era of tight budgets that may have changed. Flowers, etc., are seasonal.
You might also check Lapham Peak State Park (fee) which is several miles further just north of Hwy 18 on County Road C (Kettle Morraine Dr.)
Also just drive around out in the countryside along Hwy 18 all the way to Madison. You might be surprised.

Where exactly is this? I moved to Waukesha from Montana and have been trying to find a bit of nature to remind me of home. Instead all I have found is pollution and city.
