@jalrea54 Subscribe to the guy's page and then write him a note on his own line, it goes to him rather than the system, more like an e-mail....good work incidentally!

The album title and band name have an interesting similarity to the Ziggy album. Rise and fall, rats and spiders. I never came across this before.

You sure whacked him with that reply Ched - there are people out there who don't reallise how far back you go bud!

How do I get this removed? This track has nothing to do with Mick Ronson and insults his guitar playing. It was recorded in 1964, 2 years before Mick joined the Rats. Ben Marshall and I made this up in the recording studio because we needed a B side for Spoonful. The guitar playing is by ME, Frank Ince.

Ronno's got sick skills, I have this on the compilation "The Rise and Fall of Bernie Gripplestone and the Rats from Hull."

Hi Tom,
No, Parchman Farm was recorded by a band from Lancashire who were also called The Rats, that is until a TV show of the time called Thank Your Lucky Stars held a popularity contest between the two sets of Rats (a bit like todays X factor I suppose) with the band voted most popular would get to keep the name. The Lancashire Rats lost the vote while the Hull Rats continued with the name until Mick Ronson left in 1970

Really....How do you know that dude ? He's credited on the album cover and he's pictured on the inner sleeve playing with the band. But that picture shows them with long hair which would be the later 60's....so i reckon you might be right.
