Found this Kodak Brownie last week while out vintage camera shopping.
I jumped on it right away as It is my goal to collect as many old cameras as I can.

This model was made between 1916 - 1930's although the 1930's models were reissues.
A kind of collectors version of its time done in brown leather.
I believe that this may be a Brownie 2 Hawk-Eye Model C
Although it was not made in the UK.

This one was made in Rochester New York the home of Kodak Eastman company.
Uses 120 film and still in working condition!

  • I'd love to get my hands on one of those. I have a Brownie Target Six-20 from around 1946, but it would be pretty sweet to have an older Brownie.

  • @ngvgnDOTcom Actually, 'Medium format' was the normal thing then. The only smaller format before 1934 was 127.

  • I just bought an identical one for $5 at an antique store and my seal says 1880-1930 on it because its the 50th anniversary edition made in 1930. Check to see if there is a date on it if you havent found out yet, that is.

  • Hey thanks for the info, i've got two old ones and your instructions on just opening them was great, thanks!

  • cool, i just picked one up from an auction for 4 bucks its a modle B and made in july 1916

  • Nice Find!

    I love old antique cameras!

Actually, I have one that looks exactly the same. The only difference is the rear panel of the camera says that it was made in Canada. I picked it up at a flea market for about $10 just the other day.

Do you think we both might have the same model?

  • Funny Kodak made a medium format camera.
