VH45DE in 300zx first startup

VH45DE swap into Z32 startup. Noisy hla's from sitting so long without oil but runs pretty good, has a misfire too. Running NICO ecu in valet mode. What you're hearing is a run up to the 3k rpm rev limiter.

My timing was off one tooth, that's what the tapping was. It ran fine for a day then I lost oil pressure from lack of torque on the crank pulley, needs 265 ft lbs. Either that or it got cockeyed.

Anyways I installed a 95 VH and it runs like a scalded dog for only 300hp. It is totally worth the money BTW.

why is the rev limiter at 3k

It's a NICO 4 way switchable ECU. There is a valet mode that limits the rpm's to 3k and the speed to 60 mph. I was trying to be gentle, lol,  I ended up blowing up the engine on the first day! Oiling issues. I'll be back next summer...

My shop does these VH45 engine swaps, actually done 17 in Z32's, and RX7, and doing a 350Z @ moment,

From experience, your engine sounds like you did not do your change your chain guides and chains. You have to do them if you plan to run them.

@RMD3 not always any first start up engine will knock check out any first engine start up vid they all knock its normal but on the other hand sometimes when u install the lifter caps i think wrong the engine will run fine but it will knock like crazy but thats it

@RMD3 not always most engines when u do a swap especially if u get an engine from a shop with low mileage garunteed its gonna knock like crazy check out other vids of first start up engines they all sound the same they knock and lil by lil it will go away try it

@wenieo The 350Z? Uhm not. This is a VH45DE engine, out of a Nissan SUV. Much larger than the 350Z engine.

how did u drop in the motor? is there a ready made kit for it? was there custom fabrication? would love some feedback please thanks...
