Volvo Cars present the world's first diesel plug-in hybrid, the new V60 Plug-in Hybrid. This car combines the best properties from three different car types into one by simply pressing a button. The car becomes an electric car with a range of up to 50 kilometres (Pure mode) or a high-efficiency hybrid with carbon dioxide emissions averaging just 49 g/km (Hybrid mode) or a muscular fun-to-drive car with a combined output of 215 + 70 horsepower, 440 + 200 Nm of torque and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of just 6.9 seconds (Power mode). The majority of all European car drivers cover less than 50 km a day, for instance to and from work. On longer trips, the diesel engine is activated automatically, giving the car the same properties and range as a conventional hybrid. The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will reach the showrooms 2012.

  • why wont america let us have these kinds of cars

  • Sounds like a new version of the old Volvo ECC. Don't let this one go the way of the ECC please! A US release would be excellent also.

  • @siraj114873 that's what all we need. More products from china. Volvo was sold to a chinese company. The volvo i loved is no more they put now, mazda motors and the price starts from 30 G's in CA.

  • whats the BHP on electric mode?

  • @siraj114873 because they need to sell u gas

  • @siraj114873 The US government is in bed with the oil companies, same situation with the UK. The Swedish gov is pushing ruthlessly to put these more efficient cars into production. If everyone drove around in these cars the oil companies would make less moeny as the plug in hybrids use energy from clean resources for example solar power. Also no oil company or government controls the sun or wind, even the gravitational pull that is used to turn hydroelectric turbines. Sad world :(

  • @derbigpr500 Thank you very much for the conversion...you saved me a small headache.

  • @BP040822 Never, because compressed air cars are horrible. In all possible ways.. Do some research.

  • @jgmagoo1 That is completely irrelevant. European cars have engines that are much more advanced than american engines, and they pollute less in every way measurable, so there's no reason why they wouldnt pass the emission tests in US. The only reason why they might not pass is american government boycotting the sale of foreign cars, so that more american cars would be sold. And they do that already in many ways...trough false reliability statistics, false costumer satisfaction statistics, etc

  • 150 mpg, 50g co2 and 6,9 sec 0-100....WOW....

  • Yes we are best (a volvo worker)

  • yes new car this is shit not car !!Electrical "eco " shit that corporations have billions of profits

When will cars on compressed air and other green fuel? When when- never ever ?
