No matter what race you are, you deal with racism. However, because of our history, the black and white issue is probably one of the worst. Part of the problem is that we as a nation don't want to acknowledge the past, but guess what, we need to acknowledge the past, apologize for the wrong and forgive the wrong but to not stop there -we need to create a better future, I know my kids will have problems because they will be mixed. if we want this to end, WE need to be the ones to bring change

Silence is what keeps racism alive -it's something that may not make sense, but if we are silent, it will continue to thrive. In some places, there is more racism against blacks...but racism is not just a black and white issue, it's a human issue. Being a white female, ppl think that I don't experience racism -I experience a different type of it. I've had to deal with ppl being racist towards my family because my adopted siblings are Haitian and East Indian, and my fiance is black.

there are 6times more black men then white men in prison. (this is on a per capita basis) This is based on wikipedia, "incarceration in the US"

I think Stretch2325's point is that we all face racial profiling. Not one race but all and unless we realize it will continue.

@Stretch2325 While that may be true it REALLY depends on your location

Rudy- i love your love poems the best. if i could have lunch with anybody right now i'd love to have lunch with you because i would love to get inside your mind.
as far as the whole racist thing goes, you will find racism, discrimination, and haters everywhere. as a white female i cannot speak for the african american race but my sister is a lezbian and she struggles through discrimination everyday. i love ppl for who they are not what they look like on the outside <3

@jaymuzik rudy would get em
I have to disagree. I'm black and too much do I hear that the police are "picking" on us or not treated fairly. I feel that black people as a whole need to quit playing the victim and start to change the ways we view ourselves. We aren't in the time of the 3/5 compromise and I have never felt any discrimination because of my race. I think all stereotypes come from somewhere and stereotypes against black are no different. So lets quit being the ghetto, pants sagging race and begin thriving.

@Stretch2325 The achilles heel of human existence is that we often believe that truth doest occur outside of our own experiences. Simply because you dont feel that you have been subjected to racial profiling and racism does not mean that it doesnt occur on a daily bases. My own personal stories and the stories of many young black men just like me is irrefutable evidence that these issues are relevant. Is every white person racist? No. Is every Police officer racist?
