@rangerbuddy the big red has 25" tires stock. A 250sxx does not, and a big red is heavier than an atc 250sx. They are almost the same bike, but the bigred is more of a utility model and the sx is the sport model. My sx doesn't float, but my 1982 atc 200 has the 25" tires and it will float all day.

@hubie2100 no you don't. Last year for a pull start big red was 1984. Maybe you have a 200s, not a 250es. The 250es, atc 250sx, and trx 250 all had the same engine from 1985-87 for the atc and 88 for the trx. I put an 85 trx 250 engine in my 85 250sx and its the same except for the color (grey vs. Black). The trx 300 moor will fit, but you have to swap out the output shaft from your 250 and modify the oil line inside the right clutch cover. I think the wiring is a little different also.

My 125m floats with the 22" tires, but not when I'm on it. Makes it easy to drag out of the river when it stalls.

@rangerbuddy1066 it's because the big red probably weighs less and isn't as long as the 250sx

Are those stock sized tires? My 250sx don't float and it has 25" tires
