Just as light and dark cannot occupy the same space, neither can the two forces of anxiety and love share a place in our relationships. Feeling loved brings out our best and fear brings out our worst. Whether in marriage, parenting, work or our friendships weve all experienced feeling connected or disconnected. Understanding the cost/benefit ratio of living connected to those we love and serve helps us to feel powerful enough to negotiate through challenging times with others. If we are going to protect our priorities in life we must master the art of connection.
