LAFD / 12-1-2011 / Los Angeles Firefighters were assisted by L.A. County Firefighters on a wind-swepped blaze that tore through the the rear and adjacent structure at 1512 West Manchester Boulevard in South L.A. Firefighters first on scene reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the rear of the Motorcycle Accessory Shop. Firefighters went to work protecting exposures on three sides, another commercial to the east and apartment buildings to the west and south. The late night blaze was knocked down in approximately 45 minutes.

  • Yes! I believe 170's truck was 159's old truck. It's now a reserve rig. 170 used to be a tiller truck, as for a "light force," I dunno.

  • Thnx BE3700. Not too shabby yourself. Metal Ladders? L.A. County Uses metal ladders and they work just fine. City uses wood ladders due to tradition and they also work just fine.

  • Thought county uses wooded ladders? That definitely was not LAFD ladders.

  • is there a reason a ff is standing for a long time with zero pressure and when he gets it its as much as my garden hose. then they turn to the water turret on the rig ? lol didnt look right
