The first part of this 1990 TV version of an earlier stage play about the life of conductor Sir Thomas Beecham. Written by Ned Sherrin & Caryl Brahms.
A famed conductor in his day, Beecham is perhaps best remembered nowadays for his famous witticisms.
Written by Ned Sherrin & Caryl Brahms, with Timothy West as Beecham and Terry Wale as everyone else.
Directed by Vernon Lawrence, with musical performances by the Halle Orchestra.
"The English do not really care for music, but they absolutely love the noise it makes."
Timothy West is quite a miss!

I can't thank you enough for posting this complete program. Sir Tommy was one of the best conductors ever and is sadly missed.
