Did I skank like this when I first started skanking? Yes. Did I gain a better feel of the rhythm and grasp my own style the more I went to shows and the more I felt the music? Yes. It isn't about doing it right and doing it wrong, but a personal expression of the music. Ska isn't about everyone being the same.
