I think we need to protect cute and ugly, cuddly and scary creatures alike. Animal rights folks sometimes get too focused on specific warm cuddly species. It's ecosystems that have to be protected. Protect ecosystems like coral reefs and rain forests and you will stop more extinction. Also hunting isn't necessarily bad, poaching is. Global Warming if unchecked will destroy far more species than the poachers have anyway.

There are many bird species endemic from pacific islands that got extinct. Also lizards. And around the world many subspecies of diferent animals got extinct, not just the black rhino subspecie.

Good luck changing greedy corporations. Not to mention that consumerism is inevitable if anyone wants anything in this age. Like you say, corporation (money) rules the world. I'm not indoctrinated, this is the reality we live in. My personal choice in my consumption has no influence on the greater outcome, the change has to be collective. On another note, humanity always puts itself first, which is why nature will always be exploited for human "benefit."

@UnreasonableKnoll This is predominantly due to corporate greed as apposed to a human view. Humans cherish natures beauty. It is not you or i who clear cut rain forest. But corporations soul purpose is to continually gain increased revenue at the cost of life habitat and liberties in some cases.

Realize this. We have exponential potential as humans to do whats right. We could coexist with nature if we so chose. But corporation rule the world and indoctrinate you into constant consumerism.
