Ode to the great 500s. Chances are that a living human will never again have the privilege of seeing and hearing the best riders in the world tame the wicked beast that is the 500 two stroke motocrosser. 1993 was the last season of open class motocross in AMA national competition, and the race turned out to be superb.
I don't know who won the overall, but when it came down to the end of the last moto, Kiedrowski, Stanton, Larocco and Lamson were duking it out for the victory.
If I am not mistaken, I believe this is Jason McCormick's first national as a pro. He did the local fans proud by slinging that big 500 around like it was a 125.....and revving it like one too.
I wish I had some more shots of the 500s attacking the uphill. I don't know if there is a motocross track in the world that can make as much use of the 500s awesome power like the Washougal uphill did.
Other than that, Mr. Davy did an excellent job with the camera once again.

these guys are proper riders, they can handle 500 two strokes with basic handling for these days, not the motocross riders of 2day with the bullshit 450s which make eveything sooooooo easy

in the era of 4strokes, the 250Fs are turning the faster laps because the 450s are too heavy. in the era of 2strokes, the 250s turned faster laps because the 500 made TOO MUCH DAMN POWER

Hey man! thanks for uploading these! Is that the same Jason McCormick that had the victory over Carmichal at his home track in the 125 nations in 1999? He was on a Honda (of Troy I think)

Thats the same Jason McCormick. He was on the Planet Honda team in 1999. It was pretty awesome watching a local rider doing good at the nationals back then. Now there are several pretty good riders from the great northwest.
