Reforming health care, stopping climate change and reforming education are top priorities for President Obama and many members of Congress, including Senator Bernie Sanders. As Congress this week votes on the budget, Senate Republicans will try to erect roadblocks to reform. They have developed a newfound opposition to a parliamentary process that would let proposals rise or fall by majority votes in the Senate. There was a time when they liked the procedure, known as reconciliation, but that was back when a Republican-controlled Congress was giving tax breaks to millionaires. Now, when it comes to trying to provide health care to average Americans, theyve got a problem with the process.

  • @oldhacks the only senator on the side of the people.

  • Thanks Republicans, for filibustering every significant piece of legislation to come before the Senate. Thanks Republicans, for using 41 Senators, representing 35% of the American population, to block the democratic will of the other 65% of America THREE times as often as any previous Senate minority.

I love it that American health care composes 17% of our economy and that our costs are rising twice as fast as the rest of the first worlds... and the GOP wants to do nothing.

  • If you guys put all independents in, maybe something will get done b4 the corporations have a chance to corrupt them.

  • Man, what a good senator!!!! Senator Sanders truly spoke on behalf of American people. It couldn't be more precise, to the point. Wow!!!

  • the assholes had 8 years but they were too busy robbing the american people

  • health is business, and business isn't humane, and this is struggle of humans vs. unhumans

  • Kickass you are, good Senator

  • Please allow me to bastardize Nixon for a second but I think this is what I heard.

"When the Republicans do it, that means that it is not illegal"

  • "It's just too big" so i guess we'll do nothing instead!
