Sankt Martinsumzug Neuss-Lanzerath 2011

Auch in diesem Jahr 2011 fand wieder der traditionelle Umzug zu Ehren von St. Martin durch Neuss-Lanzerath statt. Nach der Marschroute durch das Dorf wird auf dem Rückweg am Wegekreuz gehalten, wo die Geschichte von Sankt Martin vorgelesen wird. Anschließend zieht der ganze Zug zum Martinsfeuer auf dem Fest- und Bolzplatz. Im Lanzerather Bürgerhaus trifft man sich dann in geselliger Runde bei Weckmann, Glühwein und Kakao...

Year by Year the traditional procession in honour of St. Martin took place in Neuss-Lanzerath / Germany 2011. After the route throught the village on the way back to the wayside cross, everybody came to a stop, where a narrator read out the story of Saint Martin. Afterwards the goup pushed along the track to the Martins campfire at the fairground / football area. All villager joined the sociable gathering at the "Lanzerather Community Center" eating "Weckman" (a sweet bread roll shaped into a gingerbread man form with raisin eyes and a white clay pipe in his mouth), drunk hot wine punch and hot chocolate....
