yes your right thats how intense the heat is from the fire even through insulated glass it has a real sting about it an if they where exposed to it for a few more seconds the vechile would have started to catch fire an suffer burns through the glass, Ive fought simular fires in the bush. I cant imaging how devestating it would be to witness first hand an entire suburb go like that, the fire chief to keep is mind on task in such an event is pure professionalism at its finest

I was only 5 when this all happened, but I remember asking my dad 'what time is it'? and him replying 'only lunchtime'. I didn't believe him.

its spinny to think that this was filmed at about 1 oclock in the afternoon

My Dad is a contract fire fighter for Transfield out of HMAS Cerberus on the Mornington peninsular, VIC and even they were on standby for this. All the way down there.

Hail to all people who placed their lives on the front lines to put out all the fires...unfortunately this is one of nature's ways of renewing it self,so there will be collateral damage done....it doesn't help that we have 2 legged fire bugs walking around either

Thanks for posting this.
Thanks also to those that looked after us in Canberra that day and to those that backed up recently and went to help in Victoria.
Paid or unpaid..... If you put on the suit, jump in a truck and risk your ass to fight a fire to protect other people and/or their property...You are all absolute heroes in my book !!!
THANK YOU !!
